More information

This interactive course is designed to develop students' skills in working with large numbers. It includes the study of addition, subtraction, and comparison of numbers, as well as predicting the outcomes of operations. Students will learn to represent numbers as sums of place value addends, apply the commutative and associative properties of addition, and construct expressions. The course also aims to enhance practical skills in solving simple and complex word problems, geometric problems, and competency-based tasks.

Expected Learning Outcomes Upon Completion:

  • Record Mathematical Expressions: Write mathematical expressions and statements using mathematical symbols.
  • Establish Equality and Inequality: Determine relationships of equality and inequality between numbers and numerical expressions.
  • Find Values: Compute the value of numerical and algebraic expressions with given letter values.
  • Apply Order of Operations: Use the rules of order of operations for evaluating expressions with and without parentheses.
  • Identify Geometric Elements: Name elements of geometric figures in space and model geometric figures.
  • Solve Problems: Solve simple and complex word problems, geometric problems, and competency-based tasks.
  • Create and Solve Inverse Problems: Formulate and solve inverse problems.
  • Develop Problem Models: Create auxiliary models for problems in various ways.
