  • Lesson 16: Rus-Ukraine under Volodymyr Monomakh and Mstislav the Great
  • Lesson 17: Fragmentation of Russia-Ukraine (middle of the 12th - middle of the 13th century). Kyiv, Chernihiv and Pereyaslav principalities
  • Lesson 18: Principalities of Galicia and Volhynia in the middle of the 12th - the middle of the 13th centuries. Nomadic peoples and the Crimea in the 10th–13th centuries.
  • Lesson 19: Culture of Russia-Ukraine in the second half of the 11th - the first half of the 13th centuries.
  • Lesson 20: Practical lesson. Rus-Ukraine from the Yaroslavichs to political fragmentation
  • Lesson 21: Узагальнення до розділу 3 «Русь-Україна в другій половині ХІ – першій половині ХІІІ ст.»

Expected Learning Outcomes:

    Understand the date and significance of the Congress of Lyubech, the reign of Volodymyr Monomakh, and the first written mention of the name "Ukraine."
  • Understanding:
    Analyze the causes of political decentralization in Kyiv Rus, the era of Monomakh's successors, and the distinction between elite and folk cultures.

    Place events of Kyiv Rus's fragmentation in chronological order.
    Identify the territories of principalities and Polovtsian lands on a map.
