This course focuses on assessing and developing students’ understanding of Ukrainian musical and visual arts, with an emphasis on cultural heritage, musical forms, and folk traditions. The diagnostic tasks are designed to reinforce key artistic concepts and help students explore the richness of national and traditional art.

Expected Learning Outcomes By the end of this course, students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of:

  • Different types of music: professional, folk, and professional music in a folk style

  • Musical portrayals of the native land

  • The features of historical songs and the kobza instrument, including the role of kobzars

  • Characteristics of the domestic genre and household-themed compositions in painting

  • Ukrainian folk toys as part of cultural heritage

  • Folk crafts and decorative arts, including the concept of artistic craftsmanship

  • The concept and characteristics of humorous songs

  • Traditional techniques such as glass painting, stained glass art, and glassblowing

  • Embroidery, spring motifs in needlework, leather craft, and floral designs in leather products

  • The concept of rondo and its musical structure, including refrains and episodes

Prerequisites Basic computer literacy, reading skills, and a foundational knowledge of the arts equivalent to four years of study.
