General Information
The course introduces artificial intelligence through engaging stories, interactive activities, and real-life examples. Learners explore how AI works, how it uses data to make decisions, and why its results should not always be trusted without checking.
The course goes beyond learning how AI works. Students investigate digital safety, deepfakes, privacy, copyright, fairness, and ethical challenges. They practise evaluating AI-generated content, questioning information, protecting personal data, and understanding why human oversight remains essential.
Recommended pace: 1–2 hours per week. Learners can study at their own pace.
Assessment: Each module includes a Final Mission in which learners apply their knowledge, analyse situations, and demonstrate their understanding of AI, digital safety, and human responsibility.
The course can be completed independently or with support from a teacher, parent, or other adult facilitator.
Expected Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain in simple terms how artificial intelligence learns from data and makes decisions.
- Compare human thinking with AI capabilities and recognize some limitations of AI systems.
- Describe why the quality of data affects AI results and recognize the idea behind “Garbage In — Garbage Out.”
- Explain how AI can recognize visual patterns and identify objects or features in images.
- Recognize that online images, videos, and other content may be AI-generated or manipulated.
- Identify basic ways to protect personal information and maintain digital privacy.
- Understand basic questions about AI creativity, authorship, and copyright.
- Evaluate AI-generated results, question questionable information, and recognize that AI can make mistakes.
- Consider fairness, ethical choices, and the importance of human responsibility when using AI.
